The Story Behind The “Why”
I’m Shira Weitz, and for years, I knew fertility preservation was something I was interested in. But with egg freezing costs in the U.S. often ranging from $10,000–$20,000, I wasn’t confident I could realistically afford the process.
After years of solo traveling throughout Europe, I became increasingly aware that affordable healthcare abroad could be a huge incentive to continue exploring my options. So I didn’t give up. I spent years researching clinics overseas, learning about the process, comparing costs, and made plans to finally take the leap.
Still, complicated insurance policies, multiple appointments (some of which led to tears), and intimidating logistics here in the U.S. delayed my progress… until they finally didn’t!
In 2025, I officially moved forward with the process, completed my preliminary testing, and traveled to Barcelona, where I underwent the procedure in just two weeks.
The best part? I completed the experience for roughly half the cost — and honestly, half the stress — of what the same process may have cost me in the United States.
Ever since egg freezing has been on my radar, I’ve known many other women felt similarly to me: interested in preserving their fertility, but delaying for months or even years because of intimidating costs, confusing logistics, or simply trying to navigate it all alone. And, as we all know, when it comes to fertility — time matters.
That’s why I’ve decided to take on a new challenge: organizing curated groups of women to go through this experience abroad together in a way that feels supportive, clear, emotionally grounded, and more financially accessible.
And hopefully… maybe even a little fun!

Egg freezing can feel empowering — but it can also feel overwhelming, isolating, expensive, and difficult to navigate alone.
This experience was created to change that.
We’re building a small, thoughtfully curated group experience for women interested in freezing their eggs in Barcelona in collaboration with a highly respected fertility clinic. The goal is to make the process feel more supportive, more human, and far less overwhelming.
Rather than navigating fertility preservation alone, participants will move through the experience alongside a small group of women in a calming, community-oriented environment with guidance throughout the journey.
Experience Includes

Participants will work with an established fertility clinic in Barcelona with English-speaking medical specialists and extensive experience supporting international patients.
The clinic will oversee:
Medical consultations
Fertility testing review
Cycle preparation and synchronization
Monitoring appointments
Egg retrieval procedures
Medical care throughout the process

Participants will meet virtually with the fertility clinic’s medical team to review their case and receive guidance on required testing and next steps.

Participants will complete preliminary fertility testing in the United States before traveling.

Once medically approved by the clinic, participants will officially join the cohort and begin preparation for the Barcelona experience.
